After a long day of fasting in Ramadan, you long for one thing above all. A refreshing sip that washes the dryness out of your throat. Traditionally, people break their fast with a date and some milk. In many families, there are also various yogurt drinks and juices on the Iftar table. Many people buy their drinks. But this is not necessary at all, because you can easily make the most delicious drinks at home. Therefore, I will share with you today a recipe for yogurt smoothie with strawberries and peaches.
Industrial yogurt drinks are very popular. Though more or less delicious, they are often not good for our health. Most of them are overloaded with sugar, while on the other hand, they contain little or none of the fresh fruit shown on the package. Instead, flavorings and colorants try to fool us into thinking that we are enjoying fresh fruit.
For a homemade yogurt smoothie, you need just a few ingredients and a few minutes. Since peaches and strawberries are currently available, I decided to combine the two fruits for this refreshing drink. The peaches soften the acidity of the strawberries with their delicate aroma and at the same time make the yogurt smoothie nice and velvety. Strawberries give a nice color and their unique flavor.
If you put the fruits in the freezer before mixing until they are half frozen, you will get a wonderful healthy milkshake.
The yogurt smoothie is actually already sweetened by the fruit. If it is, however, not sweet enough for you, you can sugar it additionally with some honey, deseeded dates, or sugar. Sugar is the unhealthiest variant. But because you only add a little, the yogurt smoothie is still much lower in sugar than a purchased yogurt drink.

- 3 peaches
- 200g strawberries
- 200g plain yogurt
- about 100ml cold milk
- optionally sweetener of your choice (honey, sugar: 1 tablespoon, dates: about 3 deseeded dates)
- Wash the peaches and the strawberries. Then, peel the peaches and remove the seed and cut the peaches into chunks. Also, cut off the green leaves of the strawberries and halve them. Finally, put the fruits into the mixing cup of a blender.
- Now, add the yogurt and the milk and blend the yogurt smoothie well. Taste it, if it is not sweet enough for you, add a sweetener of your choice and blend it again. The yogurt smoothie is ready to serve!
